More to come
Right before the 3rd quarter, Duke was on their way out of the tunnel. Our team was waiting right next to them. Duke was doing some organized chant thing, some Remember the Titans type BS. Jacory Harris watched this, and exploded. He was jawing at the Duke players, and was being held back by teammates and warned by referees. In his own words;
"We were coming out and Duke was just cheering, singing songs, basically like they've got this game won. Right there, that kind of lit a flame inside my soul. I was like, 'I can't let this happen.'"
I wish I had put a camera in my marching uniform to capture this moment, because it was a turning point. Jacory didn't make didn't a big mistake at all after this moment. He made the right decision on his one play going long (a throw to Hank deep covered one on one with the man turned), made a fantastic decision to scramble, and consistently found the open man to convert 3rd and longs. Maybe he just needs to be pissed off to play calm.
